My Journey into Holistic Nutrition
Hello and welcome — I’m Daniela, the heart and voice behind Nutrifika. I’m a holistic nutritionist based in Cork, working both in person and online, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Nutrifika is the space where my passion for health, balance, and sustainable living comes to life. It’s not just a name, but a philosophy and an invitation.
Why Nutrifika?
Nutrifika blends two words that carry deep meaning for me: nutrition and fika. In Scandinavian culture, fika is more than just a coffee break — it’s a pause, a moment to slow down, to connect, and to nourish. That’s exactly what I believe health should be: not a rush, not a quick fix, but a way of creating balance and vitality that fits into real life.
Nutrifika offers nutritional therapy in Cork and online for clients in Ireland, Portugal, and beyond. As a nutritionist, I support people with digestion, hormones, energy, and stress, helping them make changes that feel practical and sustainable.
My Journey
For years, I really loved my corporate career. I felt good about being good at my job, I enjoyed the challenges, and I appreciated the recognition that came with it. For a long time, that external validation felt rewarding.
But around my second pregnancy, things began to shift. Pregnancies always do, don’t they? I started to notice that I was longing for something different — a deeper sense of connection, and the feeling that at the end of the day I had made a contribution that truly mattered to me. That’s when I began looking inward, trying to find what sparked my passion and enthusiasm.
What I found was my lifelong love of cooking and food. I had already been on a vegetarian path for some years, but pregnancy and those early years of motherhood became a particularly creative time. I wanted to understand more about nutrition, not just for myself, but because I was also nourishing another human being. That curiosity opened a door, and one step at a time, it led me here — into a new chapter with Nutrifika and my work in holistic and functional nutrition.
My Philosophy as a Holistic Nutritionist
At Nutrifika, I combine naturopathic principles, functional nutrition, and holistic nutritional therapy to create personalised plans for every client I work with. No two bodies are the same, and no two plans should be either. My role as a nutritionist is to listen, to guide, and to help uncover the individual keys that allow you to feel nourished, energised, and at home in yourself.
This work also draws on food energetics and Traditional Chinese Medicine, balancing warming and cooling foods, yin and yang, and seasonal eating to support your constitution. Health, to me, is not about restriction or perfection. It’s about slowing down, making space for what matters, and creating rhythms that support both body and mind. That’s the heart of Nutrifika — where staying, pausing, and nourishing become the medicine.
At Nutrifika, I most often support people with stress and mental health, immunity and autoimmunity, digestive health, and family nutrition — from fertility through pregnancy and beyond. But I also welcome anyone who feels drawn to this approach and philosophy, because true nourishment begins with finding what resonates with you.
